Aadland wins Gold for Matanuska Maid in 2006
ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Gregory Galik,
President of Aadland Marketing Group of Anchorage,
Alaska announced today that the agency has won a record
total of four top media industry awards in the past year,
for communication and campaign work for Matanuska Maid
Dairy. Matanuska Maid Dairy is Alaska’s largest
dairy processor of fresh dairy and beverage products which
reach the majority of Alaskans in the railbelt area.
Aadland has won three “Telly Awards” this
past year recognizing creative excellence.
The first
Telly was for a Mat Maid corporate DVD project celebrating
the 70th anniversary of the dairy. Two others were for
TV spots featuring Olympic and US Ski Team member Kikkan
Randall, promoting Mat Maid products, health and
nutrition. The “Telly” awards are Alaska’s
equivalent of an Academy Award.
The “Zephyr” award, given by another professional
membership association, gave Aadland its top award for
the yearlong campaign the company developed and orchestrated
for Matanuska Maid’s 70th Anniversary. The Zephyr
Awards reward advertising for its persuasive power rather
than simply its looks or cleverness. This unique focus
has resulted in a different approach to selecting judges.
In addition to industry professionals, judges may include
a high school student, college student, homemaker and blue
collar worker.
”Most advertising competitions look at what advertising
professionals enjoy about their business, instead of what
achieves a client’s objectives in the marketplace,” said
Greg Galik, president of Aadland, “The Zephyr Awards
are outward-focused, looking at the factors that motivate
prospective customers to purchase a product or service.”
“Over the years, the work Greg’s company
has done for us has meant success for them,” said
Matanuska Maid President and CEO Joseph W. Van Treeck. “But
I have to give them a lot of credit for being part of Mat
Maid’s success as well.
Galik commented that the agency and Matanuska Maid celebrate
a twenty year relationship in 2007. “I’m
pleased with the national recognition, but more pleased
with the knowledge that our campaign efforts have had a
measurable impact on Mat Maid market share and sales. The
creative awards validate that our work is judged and recognized
to a rigorous national standard.
